The Quarry House Luxury Retreat is the creation of Vanessa and Terry Field.

It was born from a simple philosophy that where you stay should be as memorable an experience as the places you explore.

In creating the Quarry House Luxury Retreat we have drawn on our own travel experiences to create the ultimate urban retreat, then thrown in a bit of Tassie personality. Every detail has been given careful thought, over and over again.

We offer a premium experience in a boutique setting so as to maintain guest privacy.

Stage one consists of two self-contained one bedroom suites with luxury finishes and indulgent inclusions such as fine Tasmanian whisky, wine, beer and chocolate truffles.

The site for the Quarry House Luxury Retreat was purchased in 2013. A disused and overgrown block of land partially cut out as a former quarry, we knew it was just the unique site we were after.

From the 1860’s Domain Quarry was an important part of the industrial landscape and produced bluestone used in the foundations of many of the historic buildings and homes of early Hobart town.

Our small section of the quarry now has a new life.
